Module 1 builds upon what participants have learned in the prerequisite Gender 101 training and pre-training webinar 2. The pre-training webinars focused on fundamental concepts and facts about gender equality in the world and society. Module 1 deepens this knowledge to include key concepts such as inclusion and intersectionality. It also provides an overview of how to benchmark organizational gender performance against other organizations in the same industry. It also guides participants through building a vision of a gender-equal workplace.
- Learn more about foundational concepts on gender equality and how to build a vision of a gender-equal workplace.
- Learn to benchmark your organization’s gender performance against other
organizations in the same industry. - Build and share a vision of a gender-equal workplace.

- Global Diversity Practice. (n.d.) What is Diversity & Inclusion?
After this module, prompt the participants to:
- Complete the summarized organizational gender assessment results in their GAP in their Participant
Handbook or with their colleagues in a shared soft (electronic) copy version of the template. - Reflect upon and record in their Participant Handbook what kind of gender equality champion they are
or want to be. Create a list of specific individuals in their organization who are gender equality champions
and can help build, support, and implement the GAP. Having a group of people who will formally and
informally support the implementation of the GAP is critical for success.
